People who would like to work in
the riding ring with the riders need not be "horse people"
but it is good if they are "horse oriented". They should
like horses, show no fear and be willing to listen to the Ride and
Shine instructors when they go over the why's and wherefores of the
techniques used with the disabled. Even when people have been around
horses for years, there are new tricks to learn in the field of

RAT - Sunday September 27,2009
This year's Ride A Thon is being held in the Wine country in
Fairplay, CA. It will be our 13th year of RAT, enjoy a ride
through the beautiful vineyards and enjoy a lunch at the
Perry Creek Vineyard.

Ride and Shine was founded in 1996 to provide a horseback riding
program for individuals with special needs. Ride and Shine is a
Premier Accredited Center for the North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association (NARHA) and is the only such program offered in El
Dorado County.
